I kinda knew it when I packed him on Wednesday.  My American Tourister medium size luggage has flown it’s last flight.

Kinda sad.

This luggage has been with me from the start. That first trip to teach at a shop in Kentucky. He carried 70pds each trip back then. He and his big buddy a 30″ version of himself.

He lost his front pocket zipper toggles eons ago. Thus I always carried a large paperclip to use in the hotel room to get into those.

But alas the big wrap around zipper just finally gave way.  I have been nursing it along for the last few months just unable to accept that my pal was not gonna be going “wheels up” with me on adventures.

His big buddy is also very fuzzy on his corners so I think it’s best to retire them as the team that they are.

A moment of silence please

Thank you.

Ok…so now the hunt begins for new luggage.   I am pretty brand loyal.  And I think 14.5 yrs of hard service deserves American Tourister to be my first choice.

I wonder if they make burnt orange now…..hmmmm.

Off to shop,

Posted on the whim of my phone. 🙂

If you can’t find a bright color, I add a big, colorful luggage tag. The wilder the better. 14 yrs is a great life for a good bag.

  2. Rest in Pieces, old faithful luggage! And I hope you find some new snazzy ones you can’t live without.

Mine are looking pretty dog tired too.

The new bags with the 4 swivel wheels are great! We got a new set last year (sorry, can’t remember if they were American Tourister or Samsonite).

Duct tape works for everything…that is a fact around this house….

And I thought that zebra stripe was a shirt peeking out from the broken zipper. . .

Ha ha ha…no that zebra stripe is my duct tape for easy identification at the airport carousel. Already have my new duct tape for the new luggage. Just wait to you see….future blog
