Sometimes “old school is best school” I say. This quilt is a one block quilt with a small secondary block introduced in the unique top and bottom borders.
“Maddock” is the name I have given to this unique original block. That is the name of my grammar school and thus the name Old School for the quilt was the perfect fit.
I chose to do my blocks in a scrappy style – using a civil war reproduction palette.
Now let’s be honest…just a few blocks are going to get finished in any workshop and I would rather spend the time with you creating blocks and learning all the tips and tricks then cutting fabric for a few hours. So for this block if you come with fabric cut into 2.5” strips or grab a jelly roll we can jump right in and have some fun.
See the supply list for further hints on fabric selection.
I can’t wait to see your version of “Old School”
